The Ministerial Decree No. 210 /2026 and the Ministerial Decree No.229/2026 give the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian standard ES 9324 which specifies the requirements for liquid synthetic detergents for washing and cleaning child care articles and supplies, such as feeding bottles and their components, eating and drinking utensils, and children’s toys that may be placed in the child’s mouth and are intended to be used manually with water.

Worth mentioning is that this standard complies with:

- Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 of the European parliament and of the council on detergents

- Commission Regulation (EU) No. 10/2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.

- Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 - Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).

- Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 - classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP).

- JIS K 3370/2019 Synthetic Detergents for Kitchen.

- GSO 2238/2021 Liquid Detergent for Manual Dishwashing.
