This Draft Uganda Standard specifies the classification, technical requirements, performance requirements, safety requirements and test methods of biomass cookstoves intended for use in households. This standard is applicable to cookstoves using solid biomass with a firepower of less than 10kW. This standard does not cover cookstoves used primarily for space heating, electric cookstoves, hybridized biomass stoves (eg thermoelectric generating stoves), solar cookstoves, cookstoves designed to burn a liquid and/or gaseous fuel, such as liquefied petroleum gas, alcohol, plant oil, kerosene.
