This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 6 /2025 (2 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 6374 for " Fat Spreads and Blended Spreads" (12 pages, in Arabic).

It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No. 100/2019 (2 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/205/Add.1 dated 15 May 2019 mandated among others the earlier version of this standard and the draft of this standard was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/205 dated 9 January 2019.

Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with Codex Standard CXS 256-1999 "Fat Spreads and Blended Spreads", adopted in 1999, revised in 2007 and 2009, amended in 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2024.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Proposed date of adoption: 1 January 2025.

Proposed date of entry into force: The day following the date of publication in the official gazette.
