The Ministerial Decree No. 6/2025 gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian standard ES 189-4/2018 which specifies the basic requirements and descriptive standards for Other Fermented Alcoholic Beverages Except Beer and Wine.

Worth mentioning is that this standard complies with the following:

KS /EAS 143: 2014 “Kenya/ East African Standard “Brandy — Specification”.
International code of oenological practices (Issue 01/ 2016)- International organization of Vine and Wine (OIV).
