The Ministerial Decree No. 6/2025 gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian standard ES 189-1/2018 which specifies the basic requirements and descriptive standards for alcoholic beverages "wine".

Worth mentioning is that this standard complies with the following:

International code of oenological practices (Issue 01/ 2016)- International organization of Vine and Wine (OIV).
Council Regulation (EEC) No.1601/91 Laying down general rules on the definition, description and presentation of aromatized wines, aromatized wine based drinks and aromatized wine-product cocktails.
