This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No. 372 /2025 (1page, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 1654 for “Liquid Glass Cleaner" (11 pages, in Arabic).

It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No. 103/2019 (2 pages, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/202/Add.1 dated 15 May 2019 mandated among others the earlier version of this Standard and the draft of this standard was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/202 dated 9 January 2019 and G/TBT/N/EGY/202/Add.2 dated 27 March 2025.

Worth mentioning is that this standard complies with the following:

Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 of the European parliament and of the council on detergents.
Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 - Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).
Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 - classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP).
IS 8540/1986 (reaffirmed 2021).
GSO 884/2012.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Date of adoption: 22 October 2025

Date of entry into force: The day following the date of publication in the official gazette.
