This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No.245/2025 (4 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a twelve-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 8604-3 "Charging cables for electric vehicles of rated voltages up to and including 0,6/1 kV -Part 3: Cables for AC charging according to modes 1, 2 and 3 of IEC 61851-1 of rated voltages up to and including 450/750 V"; (18 page(s), in Arabic).

It should be noted that the draft of this standard was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/497 dated 18 December 2024.

Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with IEC 62893-3:2017.

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Date of adoption: 11 August 2025

Date of entry into force: The day following the date of publication in the official gazette.
