This addendum concerns the notification of the Ministerial Decree No.245/2025 (4 pages, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a twelve-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 6043 "Ships and marine technology — Position-indicating lights for life-saving appliances — Testing, inspection and marking of production units"; (21 page(s), in Arabic)

It should be noted that the draft of this standard was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/535 dated 16 January 2025.

Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with ISO 24408:2005 (confirmed in 2020).

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standards through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Date of adoption: 11 August 2025

Date of entry into force: The day following the date of publication in the official gazette.
