The notified Decree Law No. 32/2010, of 6 September, establishes the organizational model and principles of the National Food Control System (SNCA) of Cabo Verde. The purpose of the SNCA is to ensure the safety and quality of food and animal feed, covering all stages of the food chain. Structured on the basis of coordination between public, private and civil society organizations, the SNCA is given effect through legislation, inspection, laboratories and education. It defines the competencies, coordination levels, and risk management, crisis and surveillance mechanisms, thus ensuring the public health and consumer rights protection.
