This addendum concerns the notification on the Ministerial Decree No. 499/2023 (4 page, in Arabic) that gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by Egyptian standard ES 3168-2" Ceramic tiles - part 2: Dry Pressed Ceramic Tile "(39 pages, in Arabic).

This standard cancels and supersedes its last edition in 2015.

It should be noted that the Ministerial Decree No. 691/2015 (1 page, in Arabic) which was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/112 dated 4 December 2015 mandated among others the earlier version of this Standard and its draft was formerly notified in G/TBT/N/EGY/112/Add.1 dated 21 February 2023.

Worth mentioning is that this standard is technically identical with modification of ISO 13006 / 2018 (confirmed 2022).

Producers and importers are kept informed of any amendments in the Egyptian standard through the publication of administrative orders in the official gazette.

Proposed date of adoption: 18 December 2023

Proposed date of entry into force: 5 January 2024
