The document stipulates the requirements for importation of plants and plant products into the territories of Kenya. These requirements include the need for a Plant Import Permit (PIP), phytosanitary certificate, physical inspections and adherence to wood packaging standards for containerized cargo according to the International Standard for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15: Guidelines for Regulating Wood Packing Material in International Trade (ISPM 15). In addition, Kenya has provided a list of approved entities for the treatment of wood packaging material in line with the ISPM 15 measures.
