Regulation of Phytosanitary Inspection and Plant Quarantine

This regulation was updated in 2009, one year after Mozambique became member of IPPC in order to comply with International phytosanitary standards and Guidlines of IPPC. The present regulation establishes rules to prevent and control propagation of pests in the country. The regulation is applicable to all national territory and establishes rules to prevent and control propagation of pests in the country. The main objectives of this regulation are: to prevent the introduction and propagation/spread into the country of harmful organisms especially the quarantine products; to control such pests and diseases within the country with the objective of preventing their spread, and where possible, to bring about their eradication, to secure the necessary means to carry out phytossanitary inspection and certification of imports and exports.
