Egypt announced its new phytosanitary requirements to import potato tubers for processing (not intended for cultivation) for the import season 2013/2014 by the SPS notification G/SPS/N/EGY/55 dated 23 August 2013. In order to facilitate trade between Egypt and the currently approved origins for exporting potatoes for processing into Egypt, while achieving its acceptable level of protection, Egypt amends these requirements. The Technical Notice no. 20 of 13 August 2013 is replaced by the Technical Notice no. 23 dated 17 September 2013. Therefore, the Technical Notice no. 20 is cancelled. Potato tubers shipped before the date of this addendum shall be accepted after inspection at the entry points. The new technical notice entered into force on 17 September 2013.
