The notified law seeks to:ensure the sanitary protection of plants and plant products intended for propagation, while combatting the entry and spread of plant pests in national territory; prevent organisms harmful to plants and plant products from entering and spreading through national territory; establish phytosanitary measures that are consistent with international standards for exporting and importing plants;raise awareness of up-to-date phytosanitary protection techniques;support exports of plants and plant products; andestablish a plant protection authority responsible for implementing the law.
