Egyptian Standards on meat and meat products mandated by Ministerial Decrees No. 130/2005, 515/2005

These two decrees mandate that the producers and importers of meat and meat products abide by the relevant Egyptian Standards. The following Egyptian standards have been subject to partial amendments in the area of hormones and residues of veterinary drugs clauses have been: 1. ES NO. 1042/2005 for "Bastarma"; 2. ES NO. 1522/2005 for "Frozen meat"; 3. ES NO. 1114/2005 for "Luncheon meat"; 4. ES NO. 1473/2007 for "Frozen liver"; 5. ES NO. 1563/2005 for "Cows and sheep meat" "canned corned"; 6. ES NO. 1688/2005 for "Frozen beef burger"; 7. ES NO. 1694/2005 for "Frozen minced meat"; 8. ES NO. 1971/2005 for "Canned sausage"; 9. ES NO. 1972/2005 for "Frozen sausage"; 10. ES NO. 1973/2005 for "Frozen balls"; 11. ES NO. 2097/2005 for "Minced meat mixed with soya bean protein"; 12. ES NO. 3491/2005 for "Canned beef"; 13. ES NO. 3492/2005 for "Frankfurt, hot dog and sausage"; 14. ES NO. 4177/2005 for "Salami"; 15. ES NO. 2062/2005 for "Frozen kidneys, hearts, spleen, cerebrum, pancreas and tongue". These partial amendments specify changed made to clauses that are related to hormones and the residues of veterinary drugs according to mandatory standard ES No. 7135 concerning "Maximum residue limits of veterinary medicinal products in foodstuffs of animal origin" and FDA regulation.
