This Ministerial Decree provides producers and importers a transitional period of six months to comply with the modified Egyptian standard ES 132-1/2015 "Preserved tomato Products - Part 1 Tomato Concentrates" which supersedes its last edition in 2005 that has been already mandated by Ministerial Decree No. 130/2005 . This standard complies with Codex Standard No.57/2007 for Tomato Concentrates. It specifies the essential requirements and descriptive criteria that applies to the tomato concentrates (processed and natural preserved tomato concentrates) as defined in clause 2 of this standard, and offered for direct consumption, including for catering purposes or for repacking if required. This Standard also applies to the product when indicated as being intended for further processing. The Standard does not include products that contain seeds and skins such as "pizza toppings" and other "homestyle" products as well as products commonly known as tomato sauce, chilli sauce, and ketchup, or similar products which are highly seasoned products of varying concentrations containing characterising ingredients such as pepper, onions, vinegar, etc., in quantity that materially alter the flavour, aroma and taste of the tomato component.
