This Draft Rwanda Standard specifies requirements for naturally occurring sand, crushed stone sand and crushed gravel sand used for external renderings and internal plastering using mixes of lime and sand (with or without the addition of cement or gypsum plaster), cement and sand (with or without the addition of lime). It applies to sand intended to be used in mortar for masonry, for brickwork (plain and reinforced), for building with clay or concrete block and for masonry. It also applies to sand intended for manufacturing precast units.
