Ministerial Decree No. 522/2021 gives the producers and importers a six-month transitional period to abide by the Egyptian Standard ES 546 "Dried Shrimp".

This standard is concerned with the essential requirements and descriptive criteria for "Dried shrimp" prepared for human consumption, and Inspection and test methods.

This standard cancels and supersedes its last edition in 2007.

Worth mentioning is that this standard has been formulated according to National studies.
